Materials: Softwood, raised bed planters with integrated water tanks, softwood decking, softwood slatted trellis screens and bench.
Plants: Japanese style Cedrus atlantica ‘Glauca Pendula’, Nandina domestica, Hostas, Trachelospermum and Hakonechloa.
Brief: The clients wanted to make as much as they could out of their small balcony space. They wanted something visually striking to look out onto from their bedroom.
Slatted trellising was used to screen each end of the balcony.
Cedrus atlantica ‘Glauca Pendula’ is a beautiful tree and forms a strong focal point at one end of the balcony and a bespoke wooden slatted seat rests against a slatted screen at the other. Bespoke wooden planters with built in watering tanks, planted up with: Hostas, Hakonechloa and Nandina.
