Landspace Design and Build

We are passionate about creating outdoor spaces and
have been designing and building gardens since 2009.

  • Landspace Design's in-house services mean that we meticulously manage landscape gardening projects throughout every stage.

Employing a design and build company, means you don’t have the headache of trying to find a contractor to build your garden.
If you have chosen us for our design and build service then once your plans are finalized and agreed, our build estimator can accurately assess how much the build is going to cost.
Having all the necessary services in-house means that we can meticulously manage your project through each stage; and as we work on one project at a time you can always be certain that you are getting the best possible service.
We would always advocate having your garden designed. The design stages help you to focus on how you wish to use your garden and enables you to get as much out of your outdoor space as possible.
The design process also gives you the opportunity to make adjustments to the plans and keep your project on budget.

Design and Build Process

Phase 1Initial Consultation

A consultation will be arranged at a time and date convenient to you.
During this first meeting we are able to assess your existing garden and discuss with you your plans and aspirations for the space.

At this stage it is helpful to have an idea of your budget. This gives us a clearer indication of what is achievable and helps us to present ideas that are realistic to your finances.

  • During the initial consultation, we'll discuss your plans for your outdoor space, aspirations and likely budget.

Phase 2Proposal

After the consultation we will compile you a proposal. The proposal outlines the elements discussed at the meeting and gives you an estimate of a realistic starting budget.
The proposal will include the fees for the survey and design work.

Phase 3Design Agreement

If you decide that you are happy to proceed with Landspace we will send you a design agreement.
The agreement outlines our terms and conditions for the design work. It gives you, the client, a signed document of what to expect at the different stages of the design process.

You will also be asked for a payment for the survey and design fees. This is required before the design process can be initiated.

  • The next step is our proposal, which includes an estimate, and production of a design agreement document.

Phase 4Site Survey

A Topographical land survey or basic survey (depending on size) will be taken of the garden area. The boundaries, level changes and where necessary the underground services, will be plotted in preparation for the next phase.

  • A topographical land survey or basic survey (depending on size) will be taken of the garden area.

Phase 5Sketch Plans

Once the survey is completed we will present you with 2-3 hand drawn sketch plans. These sketches will show how the garden can be divided to give you the optimum use of your space and to create areas of interest.

  • Hand-drawn design sketches will be supplied to show how the space can be divided.

Phase 6CAD Design

Once the sketch plans have been discussed and agreed upon we will then proceed to draw the final 2-D design in CAD (Computer Aided Graphics).

Special Features

We can also provide detailed CAD construction drawings and specifications for special features.

  • Computer Aided Design (CAD) drawings will be generated for the next stage.

Phase 7Planting Plan

The design package will also include a planting plan or planting suggestions. The fee for this depends on which design package you choose.

A maintenance guide for plants can also be provided on request

  • We also supply a planting plan or planting suggestions, with a plant maintenance guide if required.

Phase 8Lighting Plan

On request we are able to offer lighting plans and lighting installation.

Phase 9Build Costs

The next stage is the implementation of the design. In order for the build to proceed we will give you a breakdown of how much the build of the design is expected to cost.

When this is agreed, we will send all the necessary paperwork to initiate the build. This will include our terms and conditions along with the works and payment schedules.

  • Costs will be confirmed before the final build stage commences. Lighting plans and installation services are also available.
